![]() ![]() ![]() Let me know if you have any other queries. Kindly help me in finding the better approach to pull the data and use it in Power BI. New versions of the DataDirect driver are no longer covered by our Progress license, hence no longer free to us. I am able to pull some small tables into SQL DB but when I try to pull some large tables having 100K records and 100 columns then it is running for more than 5-6 hours and failing. That is why I went to all the above effort to get Progress's own version of the ODBC/SQL client driver, which is covered by the Progress DBMS license we have for the database server. To visualize the same data in Power BI we are trying different approachesĪpproach-1: Using the ODBC data connection in Power BI, I am able to pull the data but for some of the tables it is taking very long time to refresh the data.Īpproach-2: Create Linked server for Progress DB in SQL DB and pull using the same ODBC driver and to refresh it takes more timeĪpproach-3: Dumping the data from Progress DB into a SQL table. Progress client networking install will provide the ODBC driver for 9.1E. We have an ERP system where it stores the data in Progress DB. Configure ODBC connection on client machine.
